Superdrug Mini Haul

I seriously should not be allowed into superdrug/boots or anywhere that sells make up or toiletries! I just end up buying so many things I don't need! However i'm rather happy about some of my purchases today ... and not so happy about others.

I've never tried any of the MUA products before but I thought it was about time I did, time to see if they are cheap and cheerful or cheap and nasty. But for a pound each i won't be complaining either way!
From MUA I  got two eyebrow pencils one in blonde and the other in brunette, a gold intense glitter eye liner which i'm very impressed with (channeling my inner greek goddess) and a lipstick in shade 15 called juicy ... It seemed to be a beautiful coral colour but once i applied it, it was very disappointing! It looks very chalky on my lips and does nothing for my complection!

My other purchases were simple quick fix cleansing wipes which are my fav! I honestly feel like they help prevent and attack spots. l'oreal's Lumi magique primer which i haven't tried before, but i love that it's iridescent and almost sparkly, it reminds me of a white version of benefits "that gal". Also a random buy was the Aldia of london hair remover mitt, I've tried a few hair remover mitts before and i love them! They make my skin so soft and at £1.09 who was I to pass up a bargain!

The Promise Collection

I absolutely LOVE ethical/eco/fairtrade fashion! It's the area of fashion i'm aiming to work in and I love what it stands for. I know this is old news as the collection has been out for a while but I urge everyone to look Tommy Hilfiger's "The Promise Collection".
My faves and soon to be purchased are "Carlton Skirt"

and the "Paarl shorts"

Also if anyone knows of any eco-friendly/ fair trade fashion lables let me know, i would love to check them out!

Fashion facts/peeves and questions as told by me!

These are some of my fashion peeves and some questions that I am genuinely curious about! These are my own opinions so technically are not "facts", let me know what you think :)

Fashion facts/ peeves

• An inside out hood makes you look instantly crazy
• Leggings so sheer I can see your pants/underwear = NOOOO
• Big hoop earrings will always be chavy/nedy/trashy (I don't care what Nelly Furtado's new song is haha)
• All track suits/ sports wear should not be worn unless actually doing sports

Fashion questions

• Is it acceptable for kids to wear socks and sandals?
• Could kitten heels ever make a comeback?
• Can blondes wear leopard print? (I'm blonde and find it really difficult to wear leopard print without looking tacky)
• Is it socially acceptable to wear tights under a maxi skirt?

YSL lip stain

STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING! And head over to  feelunique.com and purchase the YSL glossy lip stain!
I had read a few blog posts about it and heard a couple of youtube gurus rave about it, but to be perfectly honest I wasn't that excited about it. I've had problems with lip stains before and found that they don't wear very well and they tend to be rather drying.
But after trying it last night from a friend who is in love with the product I have came to the informed conclusion that it is fab!


I'ts such a good consistency and feels like lip gloss, but it lasts forever! I put it on around half past ten last night and my lips still felt glossy and colourful at half one in the morning! I love it ! I love it! I love it!
If you don't buy it then it will be a lose to your make-up bag! My fav shade and the one I am just about to purchase is 06. :)

I miss shopping!!

Hello, my name is Caroline McCourt and I am addicted to shopping.
I am not ashamed, however I am a little bit skint.

Unlike most normal people I can't save! Money burns a hole in my pocket! This has been very detrimental to my clothing collection lately as my work has cut all staff down to their basic contracted hours, and therefore I am the living embodiment of a poor student. boo

However a girl can dream, and internet shopping is a god send and a torture!

Evil Eye

I do love evil eye jewellery, I'm just having such a hard time finding a necklace that I like that's not going to bankrupt me!
My Gran left me a beautiful pendant, really dainty and simple. But I unfortunately have lost it and the only one I can find similar is $99.50.



So if anyone finds one any cheaper let me know!

Love for Elie Saab

Ok, I'm holding my hands up and admitting it! I have completely slacked on keeping up with whats going on in the fashion world lately! I am currently studying International Fashion Branding and from September to April I am completely saturated with designers and clothes! So, when I finished for the summer it was nice not to be glued to a computer or have my head in a magazine. However like a true fashion student I have been feeling guilty about this and today decided  to take a trip over to vogue.com ... and I'm so glad I did!!

The first thing I was drawn to was the lovely pictures of the Elie Saab Autum/Winter 2012-13 show. I think i would happily live my life in a glittering Elie Saab gown if my student bank balance allowed for it!

I think the moral of this story is that I should keep on top of my fashion stalking, then I won't miss beauties like the dresses above and below.
